34 weeks

How far along: 34 weeks!
Baby Growth: Lakelyn is about 18 inches long and weighs about 4 1/2 pounds! Her central nervous system and lungs are just about mature. If she were born now she would do generally fine!
My Symptoms: I am still pretty tired. I get out of breath way to quickly. Its hard to get up from sitting or laying down still. Sleeping is difficult with the back pain and hip pain and pressure pains and rolling from left side to right side is horrible!
Heartburn is still around, but I haven't had it quite as bad as I was.

Boobs are still huge and I still hate them. And I have found stretch marks on them :(

The pressure I feel down there is pretty intense. I have been having it since about week 30. Some days are better than others, but the pressure pains are never gone completely. It hurts even while laying down.

I've also just started about a week ago maybe feeling those "lightening pains" where its like a shooting pain down in the crotch area. Very weird and awkward when you are walking through the store and already have a wobble because of the pressure and then get stopped in your tracks because of a shooting pain down there and can't to anything because everyone is watching you!

Sleeping .. what is that?

swelling is starting to kick in as well. Fingers are permanently swollen I believe. Face has a little bit going on, but nothing terrible quite yet and my feet are usually swollen by the end of the day.

Stretch marks have made their appearance on my belly :( I have a couple on both hips and then a couple on both sides of my belly button around my pants line.

Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: I haven't weighed myself lately, but probably around 28 pounds.
Maternity clothes: All day, everyday!
Stretch marks: Yep.. they have shown up!
Belly button in or out: flat as a pancake!
Sleep: what is this sleep you speak of?
Best moment this week: Making it through the week.
Worst moment this week: Thinking that you are getting so close to the end to remember you have an entire month to get through at least!
Miss anything:  not being in pain, sleeping, breathing, laying down, getting up easily, walking like normal
Movement: I feel her a lot more now, but I really think its just because shes bigger and running out of room. She isn't all that active.
Cravings: I guess you could say I crave soda- mostly mountain dew.
Queasy or sick: feel good.. I eat nonstop though and I hate to see what it will be like after I have her.
Wedding rings on or off: On- thankfully I got a new set for Christmas that are a little bit bigger otherwise they would not be on!
Looking forward to:  Scheduling an induction date for March 16th and knowing that we have a date that she will be here by if she doesn't come on her own before then!

Updated Nursery!

Happy Friday! We've done some more work in Lakelyn's nursery! We're still not completely done with it, but we are one step closer! So I wanted to share with you what we have so far!

What's still left:
-change out dresser knobs (should be here next week)
-find a mirror with a white frame for above her dresser
-what I have planned for her hospital door will go above the white hanging baskets
-I have to make and hang her mobile (which I should hopefully have done by next week also)

I really wish we had crown molding! None of our house does and that is a pretty tough project when it comes to cutting the corner angles and what not so maybe our next house we will invest in it!
I absolutely love that rug! Its so soft!

This is the area that is missing the white framed mirror (still searching for) and above those baskets will be what is going on the hospital door!

The chair actually has a super cute purple blanket hanging over it, but I still do not love it! I really wish it was white (which i do NOT want to paint) and I do not like the tan fabric on the cushions. It doesn't match (this I may actually try to change, by recovering the cushions) Also, that swing will most likely be moved into the living room once she actually gets here, but for now its staying there!

I LOVEEEEE the chandelier! I think it gives it such a classy and elegant feel to the room! Perfect for what I was going for! I do not like "themes" (elephants, owls, princesses, etc.) so I'm loving the feel of her room! Something she can for sure grow in!

I tried to get another view of the chandelier. Its pretty hard taking a picture of a light while its on. Its a dark rainy day here today so there wasn't enough sunlight to get a picture with it off!
P.S this picture was taken before I moved all of those diapers and wipes into the closet! And this picture also shows my Yorkie, Ella, favorite spot to sit and lay- right in front of her crib. What is not shown is our lab, Mylee, that loves to lay on her rug!

This is what the chandelier looks like and I purchased it from kohls

Hopefully by next weekend I'll be able to update with some the other finishing touches of her room! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Dr. appointment

Just a quick little post about my doctor's appointment today.

I have been having some bad back and hip pain along with some pressure down there still. The pressure is no where near as bad as it was 2 weeks ago, but its still there occasionally. However all of these things are normal and even though they are keeping me up more than half of the night there is not much I can do about it.

Also my weight is up by 28 pounds! At this rate if I gain only one pound a week from here on out i'll have put on a total of 35 pounds. Not horrible, but more than I wanted. I didn't want to go over 30 pounds.

My blood pressure was good ringing in at 100/68 and my glucose test results came back at 121 (whatever the units are) which is normal!

I am also measuring 1cm (1 week) ahead. Which in all honesty I'm measuring right on time if you go based on the first day of my last period instead of the ultrasound. So I am technically due March 12th, not March 15th and technically am 33 weeks today which measures right on track with my belly!

We also discussed that basically if I go in labor outside of office hours (8am-5pm is office hours) then a hospitalist (aka Joe Blow) will be delivering my baby. Not such good news to me. Plus almost everyone that I know that has been pregnant the same time as me and is having their babies is having to be induced. Until the last few weeks this was something that I did not want to do. I didn't want to force her out until she was ready or if there was a medical reason to. Well, the more I think about it the better and better it sounds to me to know when shes coming and know who will deliver her. He said he could induce me anytime after 39 weeks, but that early would increase my risk of needing a C-section. He said not that it necessarily means I will have to have one, it just increases the risk. I would not want to schedule an induction before her due date so the earliest i would ever schedule it for would be March 12th at 40 weeks. Tyler and I have talked several times about it lately and he insists on sharing his birthday "with someone worth sharing it with" and since his birthday is March 16th which is the Monday following my due date and is the first day my doctor would suggest inducing me if she hadn't come yet that will be the date we schedule it for at my next appointment. He said scheduling it for that date would be a perfect time because i'll be past 40 weeks which should mean my cervix has softened up and she'll definitely be ready to come out by then.

So, providing everything stays smooth from here on out and as long as little miss doesn't want her own birthday and comes early she will be born on March 16th, 2015 and be the best birthday present her daddy could ever imagine!

We're so excited to be about 50 days away from meeting her and from February 5th on I will start my weekly visits including an ultrasound appointment to check size and weight on February 19th at 37 weeks! <3

31 weeks

With all of the holidays and then my baby shower I really don't remember the last weekly update I did. There hasn't been much going on or anything really new to report either.

However we are about 60 days away from having a really cute little girl so I need to step up my game as I plan to have this blog to also keep up with all of her milestones and whatnot!

So here we go.. week 31!
How far along: 31 weeks!
Baby Growth: Lakelyn is about 16 inches long and weighs about 3 1/2 pounds!
My Symptoms: I am tired a lot of the time! I can barely breath it seems like and I get out of breath so easily it is scary! I walk and move pretty slow and have to basically roll to get up from sitting or laying down!

Heartburn is still a killer! This little girl better have some hair!

Boobs are still huge and I still hate them.

Back pain is an everyday, all day thing. I can't even remember life without back pain.

Sleeping at night basically doesn't exist it seems like. I toss and turn all night from left side to right side. I have to sleep with a heating pad because of the back pain and also hip pain from laying on one side.
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain:  I can't remember exactly what my weight gain was at my doctors appointment the other day, but I believe I have gained somewhere around 25 pounds!! HOLY COW! Literally! I still have 9 weeks to go if I only gain 1 pound a week like they say (and not more) then i'll be at almost 35 pounds total weight gain! That seems like too much? I need to lay off the sweets!
Maternity clothes: basically nothing other than maternity clothes fit!
Stretch marks: No, I don't think so, but there are a couple of spots on my sides above my hips that I'm concerned about!
Belly button in or out: In/flat still, but the right side of my belly button seems to want to poke out..
Sleep: It is usually not very good these days. I do a lot of tossing and turning.
Best moment this week: My baby shower of course! I loved all of my gifts and I had some stuff to return to target as well and I scored BIG time with all of their clearance to finish out my registry basically! It was awesome! I spent no money at all!
Worst moment this week: nothing other than the typical pains and exhaustion.
Miss anything:  not having back pain, heartburn and sleeping on my belly
Movement: She moves a kicks a little more now that she is bigger, but she still doesn't move around a whole lot! She must love her sleep like her momma does!
Cravings: I wouldn't say I have cravings, but I've been eating wayyy too many sweets. Not typically me at all. I did pass my glucose test though so that is a relief!
Queasy or sick: had a few nausea spells but I think it had to do with the chocolate poptarts I ate.
Wedding rings on or off: On
Looking forward to:  Having our baby girl! We also get an ultrasound at 36 weeks to see how big she is. That is kind of exciting!

Nursery Revealed!

My original plans for the nursery changed shortly after painting the room purple. It was just too hard to match the color to anything and it just wasn't right. So I thought it over and decided to repaint her room at about 30 weeks pregnant! I love the grey and just feel like its very classy and elegant. I love it.
The first few pictures are right after we painted it. We didn't have the other stuff hung on the walls yet so I had to take other pictures of just those details. There are a few other things we still have to do, but for the most part it is finished. We have the clear crystal knobs coming for the dresser, the chandelier (pictured below) has to be put up, we have a knew curtain rod holder to match the crystal dresser knobs, some canvas prints to go on the wall beside the crib and dresser and also a white framed mirror to go above her dresser.
My mom (who bought the crib) also went ahead and let me have the crib mattress and crib sheet this past Sunday so that I could one have the room as finished as possible and two so I didn't have to worry about loading it with all the other gifts from the baby shower this Sunday. I did not get a picture of the mattress and sheet, but it is a light purple and white chevron sheet.
I'm not thrilled about the glider because, to me, it does not match. If it were white it would look better, but I just do not have the time or energy to sand it and paint it. I did register for a white one, but if I don't get it its no biggie. I'm sure this chair will be out of the room in no time so she can have space to play.
The monogram initials I purchased from here and did spray paint myself. I love them. They turned out great and were shipped super fast. I also bought the shelves for the books (which truth be told- I don't believe they are for books) and spray painted them white as well. They started off black, but did not match everything else that was white. They wont hold too many books at one time, but its a good way to switch them out so they don't get old, left behind, tore up or colored in (hopefully).
The baskets and little things they are sitting on (have no clue what they are called) came from lowes. I originally wanted wire baskets to hand with nails or something, but we saw these and I thought they were adorable and would also match my plans that I have for her mobile that I am making! I needed somewhere to store diapers, wipes and lotions/creams and there is just not enough room on the dresser so the baskets work perfect. They are kind of low, but I'm not all that tall so I had to make sure I could reach them. I'm sure Tyler wouldn't appreciate me calling him in there every hour to get something out the basket for me.
The jars on her dresser have pacifiers in one and bows in the other. They came from TJ Maxx and they are actually kitchen canisters, but I thought they worked perfect for her room! Plus they were so much cheaper than buying the glass vases with the glass lids and I'm able to fit my hands in these a lot better than the vases.
The green chevron box was a Christmas present to me from my sister in law, but I love it for her room to put some keepsakes in. Like right now all of her ultrasound pictures are in there, but as she gets older I'm sure other things will be added. The chevron laundry basket came from walmart and instead of actually putting her dirty laundry in there which I'm sure I'd never do I rolled up all her blankets and put them in there. I have a really cute blanket holder, but her room is so small that there is just not enough room to add that in there too, so the laundry basket works great!
The white rug is one of my favorite parts of her room! I got it from Ross and even the dogs love it its so soft.
I will hopefully have a quilt made sometime between now and the time she gets too big to use it instead of the pink blanket. I just threw that on there because.. well just because.
My baby shower is this weekend and I'm so completely excited for it! I can't wait to get everything and start putting it together and washing all of her stuff. Soon my house is going to be running over with baby gear everywhere!
