3D ultrasound

On December 5th we decided to have a 3D ultrasound done because we wanted her cute little face to be on our Christmas cards this year. It was such a fun ultrasound! Its amazing just thinking that this little baby girl is 1) half of me and half of Tyler and 2) our creation growing inside of me! I mean it is a little freaky too when you think about it. :)

Anyway, they told me to drink a coffee about 30-45 minutes before the appointment and my appointment was at 10am. I got up and decided to stop by target grab a coffee and some stocking stuffers to kill some time while I drank my coffee before heading to the appointment. Once we got there and got started she was just not going to move her hands and feet from her face! She was obviously comfy laying with her legs at her head and she wasn't going to move.

We tried me getting up and walking around, bouncing, wiggling, rolling from left side to the right side to my back, squatting basically everything and she just would NOT budge! She would roll and have her back face us, stretch out and snuggle against me, but just would not move her hands and feet. We got a couple of pictures, but not very many so they told me to come back in a week and try something different to drink before coming in.

The next Friday the 12th (which was my birthday) I decided to drink a mountain dew pretty fast (instead of sipping it) right before we got to the appointment which was about 15 minutes prior. She definitely liked that because she was moving around a good bit then. We got some better pictures, but she was still very snuggled against the placenta and my belly. Her feet weren't too much of an issue, but her hands still were in her face a good bit.

I may be biased, but she's pretty flipping adorable!

I hope you enjoy all of the cuteness!

Busy, Busy, Busy! 27 weeks

I cannot believe its been 5 almost 6 weeks since I've posted! Things have been so hectic and busy around here lately with the holidays that I simply just haven't had time. It has been pretty low key ending out the second trimester!

How far along: 27 weeks tomorrow and officially third trimester! holy crap!
Baby Growth: Lakelyn is about 14 1/2 inches long stretched out and weighs about 2 pounds!
My Symptoms: I still have a good bit of energy, but the exhaustion is starting to settle back in again!

Heartburn has still been around. Its mostly at night, but boy is it bad. Usually its when I'm laying down trying to fall asleep that it will kick in. If I get up and drink a glass of chocolate milk (I'm not a white milk drinker) it'll go away.

Boobs are still huge and I still hate them.

Back pain is basically here for the long run I think. Its not really bad, but by the end of the day it usually bothers me.

Sleeping at night is starting to get tricky at this point too. I've always been a belly sleeper and now that I'm to the point where I just can't sleep on my stomach anymore I have to toss and turn all night between the left side and right side. Sleeping on my sides tends to bother my hips and back some. Also its pretty tough to roll over or get up when I'm laying down too.. all my abdominal muscles are clearly gone. Its very awkward.

My feet tend to bother my too if I'm on them for a good period of time. Like if I'm working all day running back and forth to get patients they will definitely start aching.

I feel like I've been eating like a horse lately. Basically always hungry

Gender: Girl!
Weight gain:  I haven't been to an appointment since Halloween! I know- terrible. But it was scheduled for November 26th and they had to reschedule it because the doctor wasn't there and so we moved it to another day that I ended up not being able to do and then I had to reschedule it to December 8th and ended up having to work and so I have to call and reschedule it again. It was just a quick check up and we had a 3D ultrasound last Friday and also one this Friday and everything is great so its not much of a big deal. But long story short, I don't know where I am at with weight gain at this point, but probably around 13-15 total pounds?
Maternity clothes: officially need all maternity clothes.. unless its sweats or leggings or tshirts
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In but kind of flat now
Sleep: It has been ok, but I did have a week where I couldn't fall asleep and I was having a lot of back pain, but it hasn't been too bad.
Best moment this week: We got to have a 3D ultrasound last Friday! She is too cute! Although, she wouldn't uncover her face with her hands and feet so we go back this Friday which is my birthday to see her again!! We also had some Christmas/maternity pictures done this past Sunday and I can't wait to get those back too!
Worst moment this week: nothing really.. just the annoying back pain, exhaustion or heartburn.
Miss anything:  seeing below my belly or wearing clothes that fit
Movement: She is a pretty chill baby. I feel her move pretty well and can feel and see her from the outside, but she just doesn't move a whole lot. She just likes to hang out in there!
Cravings: none still..
Queasy or sick: feeling great!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Looking forward to:  Our 3D ultrasound Friday, my birthday Friday, our company Christmas party Friday, getting our pictures back and counting down the days until CHRISTMAS!!!
Belly Pictures:  I have a few pictures to share.. including ultrasound pictures!

21 weeks & Ultrasound!

We have passed the halfway mark! Woohoo! With the Holiday's coming babygirl will be here before we know it! We can't wait to meet her!
How far along: 21 weeks, 6 days
Baby Growth: Lakelyn is about 10 1/2 inches and at our ultrasound last Thursday 10/30/14 she weighed about 12 ounces! She was also measuring about 5-7 days smaller than what I actually am based on her head and stomach size. Which I'm ok with! I have had a gut feeling since day one that she would be a smaller baby! So we will see :) Plus a week isn't really anything when it comes to ultrasound because it can easily be off too!
My Symptoms: I'm doing tons better with enery! I haven't had the urge to nap in a while! I mean there are still some days where I wish I could take a nap, but for the most part I can go all day and be fine!

Heartburn is NO JOKE! I've never had it before in MY LIFE, but these past two weeks ive been having it like crazy every single night and its been lasting a lot longer.

My boobs are ginormous! I hate them!

Lower back soreness is still there, but not as bad. If I walk around or am on my feet a lot it will hurt pretty bad. We went to the fair Sunday and walked around for 3-4 hours and it was killing me! My upper back with start hurting too which I think is from my huge boobs!

Headaches have either been getting better or I've just learned to work around them by sleeping in the recliner a couple nights a week so that I'm sitting up! I do think a lot of it has to do with sleeping on my stomach (which has been getting harder and harder to do). I'm not sure why or how, but I just feel like maybe because of the way I have to turn my neck if I'm on my belly causes tension and a headache? I also asked the doctor about it and he said its very normal and nothing that we can really prevent, but I can take Sudafed (Tylenol Sinus or Benadryl) at night and it may help easy them. I tried that lastnight and I didn't wake up with a headache and I definitely slept well!

Starting to pee a lot more frequently!

On Halloween night after we finished passing out candy I was watching tv and they started playing the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel and while I was halfway through a movie I noticed a movement that was very strong feeling. It felt so funny. I thought "Whoa what was that?" and then a second later I felt it again a couple of times in a row and noticed it was babygirl KICKING!! I actually laughed out loud because it was 1) the funniest feeling 2) an exciting moment and 3) an instant knowledge of the fact that she obviously has her momma's love of Christmas! Since them i'll feel them every now and then, but that night while I was watching those movies they were constant!

As I am sitting here typing this I have decided to turn on Christmas music and see if she starts kicking to the music. Do you think she will?

Gender:  Little Girl!
Weight gain:  At my appointment on10/30 I had gained 7 more pounds putting me at 10!!!!! I almost DIED! I, of course, had to do some googling about this and found out that I am actually right on target! At this point in my pregnancy i should have gained between 10-14 pounds. It said that in first trimester you should gain between 2-4 pounds (which I gained 0 so that was good to me). After that you should gain about .85-1.1 pounds per week there after until 40 weeks! That seems like a bit much to me, but its right on point.
Maternity clothes: I definitely need them. I am wearing more maternity jeans lately, but I still try to wear some regular jeans too, although they're not really comfortable so I have to leave them unbuttoned. I also wear scrubs half of the week so those are comfortable, but I do not fit in a lot of the ones I have :(  As for shirts- I basically have NONE! My regular shirts are either too tight or too short and maternity shirts are either too big or I just don't like. So I have very few that I wear. I've been trying to stick to sweaters or sweatshirts, but even my sweatshirts are getting tight on my belly! None of my jackets fit and if they do I for sure cannot zip them up! This might just be a long winter!
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In, but it was itchy the other day and is starting to look kind of funny! You'll see it in the picture where I painted my belly for Halloween!
Sleep: It has been pretty good lately. Other than getting up to pee.
Best moment this week: The cold weather that we had (the high was 40 something and at one point at like 1:00 in the afternoon the windchill was 29 degrees!) It was awesome! Not to mention our ultrasound last Thursday and hearing that she is absolutely perfect and cute as can be was amazing!
Worst moment this week: The crazy weather where it was in the upper 70s today and tomorrow!
Miss anything:  I sometimes start to miss my pre-pregnancy body and then she'll kick or move around and i'll be happy again. However, The fact that my lungs are being smushed and I lose my breath faster than normal and can barely yawn without it hurting is no fun!
Movement: Starting to get more and more little kicks and tons of movement lately!
Cravings: Still can't say I've been craving anything. I for sure have an appetite now (obviously considering I gained 10 pounds) Some of the things that I have been wanting lately are: slim jims, rolls from Logans, and French fries.
Queasy or sick: Been feeling great!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Looking forward to:  Black Friday shopping- Babygirl will have presents this year too even if she is in my belly! My birthday is also coming up in about 5 weeks and we are going to be having a 3D ultrasound between Black Friday and my birthday so that we can have a cute picture of her face for our Christmas card this year!
Belly Pictures:  Lots of pictures this week. We'll start with some ultrasound pictures!

still a girl!!

excuse the ugly belly button ring and horrible painted face :)

Sneak Peak of her closet of clothes already! They range from newborn to 24 months! Most of them are 6-9 months!

This is what happend to the chalkboard! It's ready for Christmas!

I put out our stockings and decorated the fire mantel and I noticed that our initials are BLT! haha- we're always thinking about food. Even while naming our child!

 Happy Hump Day Friends!

catching up!

apparently I missed posting an 18 and 19 week update! Man time flies when you are having fun super busy! Not much has changed symptom wise, craving wise, sleeping wise, headache wise, any kind of wise!
Tyler and I did our registry last Friday at babies-R-us and Target! There were a lot of things I didn't know much about so I just picked one or either scanned them all! It was fun to go around just looking at everything and imagining soon we'll have a little girl to use all this stuff for!
I was supposed to have my 20 week appointment and ultrasound today, but because of stupid insurance reasons it was rescheduled until next week! I was really looking forward to seeing her! I 1) wanted to make sure she was still a she and 2) haven't seen her in 5 weeks!
I'm thinking that I will book a 3D ultrasound for around 25-27 weeks? I'm not sure when I will get another ultrasound after this one so I want to plan it around that! Plus I would love to have a nice 3D or even 4D picture of her to put on our Christmas card this year!
Speaking of pictures I need to get our photographer booked for our delivery photos!
I also started feeling some movements right before 19 weeks! I have felt them before, but it wasn't consistent so I didn't claim it as actual movements. Lately I've been feeling them more and more. At first what I was feeling was like a hard, slow, rolling feeling when something was pressed against my belly and every now and then a bubbling feeling. Now I still get that hard, slow, rolling feeling but I am feeling more flutters and "popcorn popping" feelings. I'm assuming those are more of kicks and the other feeling is her actually rolling over or something. I know she rolls a lot because during our ultrasound at 12 weeks she was face down and then a few minutes later when I had to go back in for the second time she had rolled face up and then back face down.

Completely off topic of baby girl, but its been cooler around here and Halloween is like a week away and I'm soooo excited. Mostly because I am so ready to decorate for Christmas! I normally start putting up inside decorations on November 1st and then mid November I get my tree(s) and put them up and then weekend after Thanksgiving or the weekend before Thanksgiving i'll put up outside decorations. This year I just want to do it all now! I just want to savor this Christmas in every way so that by the time its over and the new year starts i'll be "ready" for it to end. Which is a good sign of I lived that Christmas up!
I may end up caving and putting up some small Christmas décor inside in the next few days! I just can't help it! Hopefully Tyler doesn't kill me and i'll be able to post pictures of the decorations :)

Roll on weekend!

17 weeks!

Totally slacking recently on updates and chalkboards! I originally planned to do one every week, but nobody warns you that when you are pregnant there is a whole new meaning to the word tired/exhaustion! I knew and heard "you will be tired" but I didn't exactly know what kind of tired they meant!
Anyway, on top of just being exhausted I've been so busy it seems! With working and the holidays coming up its going to fly by and it will be March before we know it! While I can't wait to meet miss Lakelyn I also want to cherish this time with just Tyler and our fur babies!

I mean this face melts my heart!

and this one was just so happy I let her lay with me on the couch! She never gets to get on the furniture!

How far along: 17 weeks, 6 days
Baby Growth: Lakelyn is about 5 inches and weighs about 5 ounces!
My Symptoms: I'm exhausted all the time! I mean I was told second trimester you would get all this energy back! Someone lied to me! I do have a little more energy than first trimester, but I still want to fall asleep by lunchtime and after work! I need like two naps a day!

I also have been getting heartburn. Well at least I suspect its heartburn. Its a burning sensation in my throat that lasts like 2 minutes and usually goes away. It comes and goes randomly and hasn't been anything all that bad.

Lower back soreness has definitely kicked in this week for sure! I feel like I need it cracked several times a day. I hate to see what it will be like when I'm really big!
Gender:  Little Girl!
Weight gain:  At my appointment on 9/29 I had gained my first 3 pounds! In TWO weeks! That was a lot harder to swallow than I had anticipated.
Maternity clothes: A pair of jeans every now and then, but mostly regular jeans with a hairband to keep them buttoned so it doesn't put much pressure on my belly. Leggings, sweats, pjs are my life!
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: It has been hit and miss. The headaches have been better and I haven't has quite as many, but some back soreness will have me tossing and turning some nights. I've also had a lot on my mind lately so that tends to be on my mind continuously which doesn't help.
Best moment this week: The couple of days of cold weather were amazing!
Worst moment this week: The ridiculously hot weather we've had today!
Miss anything:  Can't say that I do.
Movement: Still nothing. I mean I think I have felt baby girl roll a couple of times here and there, but I can't be sure that is what it was.
Cravings: Can't say that I have really had any. I mean I've been eating a lot more and my appetite has been pretty good lately, but I haven't had really any "OMG I NEED THAT RIGHT NOW" episodes. I have wanted some frootloops with marshmellows cereal, slimjims, Dr. Pepper, chocolate milkshakes, but I probably would have been ok if I didn't get it. OH there is one thing that I can say I really, really want, but I don't know if I'd classify it as a craving considering I want them ALLL the time even when I'm not pregnant and that is crablegs!! yumm!
Queasy or sick: Been feeling pretty good!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Looking forward to:  Our next ultrasound in 2 weeks!
Belly Pictures:  No chalkboard again this week..

Happy Hump Day!

15 weeks

How far along: 15 weeks, 6 days
Baby Growth: Lakelyn is about 4 inches long and 2 1/2 ounces!
My Symptoms: Nothing really major going on. I get out of breath pretty easily and I still want a nap like every day, but that is about it!
Gender:  GIRL!
Weight gain:  None just yet! I'm sure it'll start very, very soon.
Maternity clothes: Nope, but I definitely need some maternity shirts bad! I don't have much that fits me. Its finally been cooler here so leggings, sweats, and long sleeves have been life savers!
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: It was amazing last night! I don't know if it was because it was pretty chilly out and the windows were open and I was all cuddled up, but last nights sleep was the best!
Best moment this week: Obviously finding out we're having a BABY GIRL!
Worst moment this week: These days its just waking up in the mornings!
Miss anything:  Can't say that I do.
Movement: Nothing! however the ultrasound tech did confirm my placenta was towards my belly like in front of baby girl and that she has heard a lot of women say that is a reason they don't feel movements until later! So.. lets hope that placenta moves on over so I can start feeling baby girl!
Cravings: Still none, but hoping they will start here soon. I've been doing great as far as eating goes lately.
Queasy or sick: Been feeling pretty good!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Looking forward to:  Finishing up painting the nursery so I can share some pictures with you! Also looking forward to more cooler weather, fires, sweats, Halloween, probably the Halloween candy, Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping and most of all Christmas <3 ahh its so close I can smell it!
Belly Pictures:  No chalkboard this week.. I'm a little slack, but it is what it is!
