Lakelyn is ONE month old!

I can NOT believe my baby girl is already one month old! It is just so crazy to me! I think the time went by so much faster considering we had to spend an entire week in the hospital! It completely threw off my entire plans for having Tyler get to be home with us and us getting to spend quality time together just us 3 for the week. We got home that Friday afternoon and Monday he had to go back to work AND it was his birthday! I was a hormonal basket case Sunday night about him going back to work. I was just not ready for him to leave us yet. I was not worried about anything going wrong or taking care of her on my own, I just did not want to be alone. I can't really explain the feeling. Only someone that has been there and felt what I'm trying to explain will be able to get that. I also had some crazy strong emotional feelings about her growing up so fast and that she was already a week old and this overwhelming since of love for this sweet, sweet blessing from God that it literally HURT and I CRIED so much. I just wanted to freeze time right where it was at. I still want to freeze time and I still get those overwhelming moments where I just want to cry because I know she is going to grow up in the blink of an eye and I just am not ready to handle that! I just want her to be little and to cuddle her and protect her and hold her in my arms forever!

Not even an hour after she was born!

Wednesday, March 11th we thought we would be going home :/

Friday, March 13th first nap in her rock and play at HOME! Within the first hour being home :)

On March 14th Lakelyn got her first bath and some pictures taken by mommy! I am obviously NOT a good photographer, but I try :) I do not have many pictures of me when I was little or at all actually so it is very important for me to have pictures of my children and our family. Pictures are moments in time you can capture and have forever. I have always though professional pictures are just too expensive, but now that I'm a mother I don't think you can put a price on memories of your babies!  Daddy actually took the bath pictures while I was washing her. She actually liked the bath for the most part. Once we were done washing her and about to take her out I guess she got cold and did not like that and started to cry then! Even now at one month old she loves the bath and makes all kind of faces when you pour water on her belly or legs. However, usually sometime between getting out of the bath and getting lotion down, diaper on and pjs on she tends to cry.

On Monday, March 16th (daddy's birthday) she had her first doctors appointment with Dr. Kelly Rogers. This was a follow up for her jaundice and a regular after birth check up. When she was born she was 6 pounds 13 oz and 19 inches long. When we left the hospital she was down to 6 pounds 4 oz. Her jaundice was already gone and there were no signs of infection from my water being broken for 23 hours before we left the hospital. That was the reason we had to stay until Friday. When we left her appointment on Monday she was back to her birth weight already and doing awesome! Her color was great and she was a happy baby once we got her clothes back on :)

We had to go back in one week (when she was two weeks old) and at this point we had been hit with the thrush plague! It was not fun for us and you could tell her mouth bothered her. She was fussy, gassy and not wanting to eat much. She always sticks her tongue in and out her mouth, but she was doing it even more at this point. So we got a prescription for both of us for that, and was given the go ahead to try some gripe water for the gas. She was also up to 7 pounds 12 oz and 20.5 inches long! She was perfectly healthy and doing awesome! We were told we didn't need to be seen again until she was 2 months!

At exactly one week old we celebrated Lakelyn's first holiday! St. Patrick's Day! While we didn't do much of anything other than eat and sleep, we did sit outside for a little bit since it was nice outside!

 sweet baby feet :)

At 12 days old we had her newborn pictures done. These were done in place of our delivery pictures that I sadly did not get to have done like I wanted. I'm glad we got to do newborn pictures, but I will forever miss not getting delivery pictures done!

sneak peak- another post when I actually get her pictures back!

After only two weeks I had to go back to work at the plumbing shop. We just financially couldn't afford me to not make ANY money and we had bills to pay. Luckily, this is a family business and I am able to take her with me to work for a few hours and then come home. I am currently only working about 10 hours per week. So its not horrible, but I would obviously rather stay home with her. It is very hard to get up with her all night and morning, work, clean, cook, and everything else a wife and mom does when their baby is only a month old!

She sleeps with her arms above her head and her mouth open!

3 weeks old <3

We then celebrated her second holiday, Easter, and her first church service! We took her to see the Easter bunny at the mall on Friday, April 3rd. She of course slept threw it all, but she was adorable :) During her first church service she slept the entire time... well except for that quiet moment in the middle of the sermon when she let out an extremely loud fart that the entire section we were sitting in heard and made them turn and laugh. Its a good thing she is cute and little!

April 8th while laying on her play mat looking around she started taking for the first time. She has been smiling and lifting her head since I gave birth to her, but she was actually smiling at all her toys and at me talking to her. It was the cutest thing ever!

Some of the things Lakelyn can do:
  • lift head briefly when on stomach on a flat surface
  • focus on a face
  • respond to noise in some way, such as startling, crying, quieting.
  • lift head 45 degrees when on stomach
  • vocalize in ways other than crying (she's starting to coo and make "laugh" noises)
  • smile in response to your smile
  • smile spontaneously
  • bringing both hands together
  • her head is pretty steady, but does bobble some

Some things Lakelyn likes:
  • Eating
  • Laying on her belly on your chest
  • Being patted on the back/ being burped
  • Laying on her belly across your legs
  • Playing on her play mat
  • Mommy & Daddy
  • Riding in the car
  • Music or TV sounds
  • Being kissed and cuddled
  • Her swing
  • Walks

Some things Lakelyn doesn't like:
  • Hiccups
  • Having to poop or pass gas
  • Diaper changes aren't her favorite
  • Car seat
  • Getting cold after her bath
  • When she spits out her paci, but really wants it

Some other pictures of our sweet Lakie Bug<3
The one time I've ever seen her sleeping with her mouth closed!

First time in her bouncer.. she actually didn't care for it!

"Isn't she lovely. Isn't she wonderful. Isn't she precious less than one minute old. I never thought through love we'd be making one as lovely as she, but isn't she lovely made from love.
Isn't she pretty. Truly the angel's best. Boy, I'm so happy we have been heaven blessed. I can't believe what God has done through us he's given life to one, but isn't she lovely made from love"

We love you so incredibly much baby girl. You are our whole entire world! I am not sure how I ever lived this life before you <3
