Last Sunday April 26th we took Lakelyn to the beach for the first time! It was a gorgeous day. Not too hot and not too cold for her. We drove all the way to Kiawah Island to go to their beach and when we got there the parking lot was full and they would not let you park on the side of the road like they typically do. They were making cars wait in line for someone to leave and then letting them go park. There was a total of 20 cars ahead of us and it was already 12:30. We decided not to go there and ended up getting Sara's aunt to call us in a pass at Seabrook Island.
When we got there we set up a little half circle tent thing for her to stay in so she was out of the sun, but the actual beach area there isn't that big and it looked like the tide was coming in so we decided to move everything back instead of having to do it later. Well when we moved it back it was now on dry sand and the wind was blowing pretty good so there was sand EVERYWHERE! I mean within minutes the sand was coving our towels and blankets and stuff. Jimmy actually sat in the tent and held her. The tent blocked basically all of the wind and most of the sand, but by the end of the 3 hours we were there everything had sand on it!
Overall it wasn't that bad of an experience taking a 6 week old to the beach for the first time! However, I think we might wait until our Florida vacation in July before we do it again! :) We are more of lake people where there is less sand!

Have a good weekend!
