Lakelyn is 11 months old!

Lakelyn turned 11 months old on February 10th, 2016! I cannot believe this is the LAST month of my baby being a baby! She will officially be a toddler in just one short month! Thankfully God knew what he was doing when he allowed us to have her and gave us one extra day to cherish this sweet, sweet baby! Thanks Leap year!

At 11 months old Lakelyn can do everything a baby her age should be able to do including:
  • get into sitting position from stomach
  • pick up an object with any part of thumb and finger
  • understand "no" but not always obey it

She can also do everything an 11 month old will probably be able to do including:
  • play patty-cake (clap hands) or wave bye-bye
  • walk holding onto furniture, cruise
  • point or gesture to something to get needs met

 blowing kisses!

Lakelyn can do everything a baby her age may possibly be able to do including:
  • pick up a tiny object neatly with tips of thumb and forefinger
  • stand alone momentarily
  • say one word other than "mama" or "dada" (she says "whats that?")
  • say "mama" or "dada" discriminately

This month Lakelyn can do several things that 11 month old babies may even be able to do including:
  • indicate wants in ways other than crying (she points)
  • "play ball" (roll a ball back to you)
  • drink from a cup independently
  • use immature jargoning (gibberish baby talk)
  • respond to a one-step command without gestures (she knows "thank You" means give it here )
  • walk well
  • stand alone well

The only thing she cannot yet do in this category include:
  • say three or more words other than "mama" and "dada" (she is close though. she'll say "whats that?" and so close to saying "Mylee" and "Ella")

Lakelyn still loves:
  • to take a bath and the water (she cried one time when the bath tub was running and she realized she was not getting a bath)
  • the dogs
  • blankets and pillows
  • eating
  • walking around (the end of January first of February she just started walking more and more and now she is almost in a full sprint!)
  • outside
  • paci (the past few months when she started sleeping through the night she got back on a paci kick, but i'm ok with it for now because unless its at night she really does not cry for it, but if she sees one she will pick it up)
She does not like:
  • being told no
  • getting changed
  • being put down after she just wakes up
she got to see her first little bit of snow! and yes this was exciting for us!

went to her cousins first birthday party!

like I said, she is back on the paci and apparently likes to get in baskets (she sits in the dogs toy basket too!)

Every month I say that I cannot believe how fast you are growing! I am still in shock that this is your last month as being a "baby". It does not matter how old you get, how tall you get or how much of an attitude you get you will ALWAYS be my baby. You will always be the one that made me a mommy, you will always be my first born, my baby girl! I love you so much sweet girl.

10 months old!

I can't believe this post never got posted! I am such a slacker! My baby turned 10 months old on January 10th, 2016! And I have to admit.. the pictures with her sticker are easy to identify which month they belong in... but the other pictures i'm just not so sure. its so confusing. I mean I know how old she was at the time, but I don't know if they should be put with her 10 month or 11 month post since it was the end of January. Anyway.. i'll just continue to go with the flow :)

At 10 months old Lakelyn can do everything a baby her age should be able to do including:
  • stand holding on to someone or something
  • pull up to the standing position from sitting
  • object if you try to take a toy away
  • say "mama" or "dada" indiscriminately
  • play peekaboo
  • exchange back and forth gestures with you (she likes to point)

Lakelyn can do most of the things a 10 month old will probably be able to do including:

  • get into a sitting position from stomach
  • wave bye-bye
  • pick up a tiny object with any part of thumb and finger
  • understand "no" (but not always obey it)
  • clap her hands together
  • walk while holding onto furniture (cruising)

She can do some of the things a baby her age may possibly be able to do  including:
  • stand alone momentarily
  • say "dada" or "mama" discriminately
  • point to something to get needs met

She can do many of the things that a baby her age may even be able to do including:

  • indicates wants in ways other than crying (she points a lot)
  • play ball (she likes to hand them to you over and over again, or throw them)
  • drink from cup independently (I assume this is a sippy cup not just an open regular cup?)
  • pick up a tiny object neatly with tips of thumb and forefinger
  • respond to a one-step command (such as "give that to me" with one hand she does this to an extent and doesn't always give it to you)
  • use immature jargoning (gibberish sounds as if baby is talking in a foreign language)
  • stand alone well

Things she can't yet do in the may even be able to do category include:
  • say one word other than "mama" and "dada"
  • walk well

Lakelyn still loves to
  • take baths and play in the water.
  • try to eat dog food
  • stand up
  • mickey mouse clubhouse
  • eat
  • play with the dogs
  • go outside
  • scrunch her nose/face

the only things she does not like are:
  • being told "no"
  • getting changed
we celebrated her first New Years and I only have one picture from it... I know!

and got her 3rd tooth! the upper right lateral incisor (not the front tooth)

You are getting so big baby girl, but you will always be my baby <3
