Weeks 4, 5 & 6

 How far along: 4,5 & 6 weeks

Baby Growth: "Mistletoe" is about the size of a sesame seed, and he or she looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. He or she is now made up of three layers — the ectoderm, the mesoderm, and the endoderm — which will later form all of his organs and tissues. The ectoderm  is his or her skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel.  The mesoderm or middle layer is his or her heart and circulatory system, muscles, cartilage, bone, and subcutaneous tissue. This is the week "Mistletoe's" heart starts to beat and pump blood! The third layer, endoderm, will house his or her lungs, intestines, and rudimentary urinary system, as well as his thyroid, liver, and pancreas.

My Symptoms: My main symptoms for these weeks were fatigue.. Literally first trimester with a  toddler is tough! Luckily, she naps and when she naps I nap!

I also had some serious nausea. We went to North Carolina for a mini vacation/my birthday/ to ride the Polar Express train and so I made sure to call and get some Zofran before we left. I have had to take the meds most days. Usually just once in the morning and then I just try to deal with it if it comes back during the day. I did have one day before we left I had to lay on the couch all day because it was really bad. I just knew I would actually vomit at some point during that day, but thankfully I was able to keep it down. I am the worst at throwing up and I hate it so, so much that I will do whatever it takes x's a million to not throw up!

I have also been hungry with the hunger pains which is terrible and brings on the nausea. I have to eat several times a day, but there is not a whole lot that sounds appealing to me. So it's been a struggle again.

My boobs are sore again this pregnancy, but I don't think near as bad as with Lakelyn. My boobs never really went down to normal size after her and even after stopping breast feeding. So they are still large and will only get larger and i'm NOT looking forward to that.

I have had a lot of cramping/uterus stretching pains. I didn't think I would have as much since this is the second pregnancy and Lakelyn did pretty good at stretching my uterus out, but I definitely have a good bit of it.

I have had about the same amount of headaches as I normally would I think. Sometimes looking back I feel like I haven't had one in a while and then one will hit me. Usually some Tylenol or caffeine will help. I usually try to drink a soda and if that doesn't help i'll have to take some Tylenol.

Being out of breath so easily is another thing I have noticed. It doesn't take much and then i'm trying to catch my breath and can feel my heart beating fast.

Gender:  I really have no idea. I was almost positive when I first found out that it was a boy, but I have no clue. We really want a boy this time, so I have a feeling it will be a girl for that reason. ultimately, a healthy baby is all that matters.

Weight gain:  I had an extra 10-15 pounds still on me from Lakelyn that I never lost, but according to the scales.. I gained 3 pounds already!! Which I really am not that worried  about because bloat and lack of bathroom use most likely contributed to that 3 pounds.

Maternity clothes: None yet, but I can for sure tell my clothes are getting tighter a lot sooner.. The sad part is all of my maternity clothes are basically winter clothes and I will be big pregnant during the miserable hot summer this time.

Stretch marks: No new ones - have a few below my belly button from Lakelyn and PUPPPS rash

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: sleeping like normal

Best moment this week: Having our first appointment and seeing a baby and heartbeat

Worst moment this week: Having to work while I just wanted to lay down and nap!

Miss anything:  energy

Movement: nope

Cravings: Not really

Queasy or sick: queasy

Questions/Concerns: none yet

Looking forward to:  hearing the baby's heartbeat and finding out the gender

Belly Pictures: poor baby #2, haven't gotten any fancy belly pictures.. I need to do better and I probably will once I start showing more

major bloat going on!
